Attractions and Places to Visit in Winston Salem

Winston-Salem is home to many fun, historical and delicious attractions. Winston-Salem incorporated in 1913 when the towns Salem and Winston joined. The Reynolds family helped grow Winston-Salem by employing much of the population at R.J. Reynolds Tobacco Company. The Hanes family also was a leading employer at the Hanes textile factories. The Reynolds money helped build many of the Winston-Salem city buildings, hospitals and schools. After a merger and downturn of the tobacco company, Winston-Salem rebuilt itself as a city of arts and innovation. You can learn much more about the history of the city by visiting the local museums and you will surely leave them stunned.
